Festival Accessibility

Festival Accessibility at Pride in Gloucestershire 2025

At Pride in Gloucestershire, inclusion means more than representation – it means access for all. We’re committed to creating a welcoming, supportive space for Disabled and Neurodiverse guests. We're proud to hold a Bronze accreditation with Attitude is Everything and are actively working towards Silver.

This page answers common accessibility questions, but we know everyone’s needs are different. If you'd like to chat or share your access requirements ahead of Pride Day, please contact our Event Operations Director, Sean Bulley (he/him), at accessibility@prideinglos.org.uk. We’re happy to get back to you via email, phone, SMS, or WhatsApp – just let us know what works for you. We aim to respond within five working days.

Special thanks to our 2025 Accessibility Partner, CGI, for supporting our mission to make Pride more accessible.

Planning Your Visit

  • Accessible Parking

We understand that some attendees may need to park closer to the event. That’s why we offer a limited number of free on-site parking spaces for Blue Badge holders and those with essential access needs.

These spaces must be booked in advance to ensure we can plan effectively and make your arrival as smooth as possible. To reserve accessible parking, please email us at accessibility@prideinglos.org.uk with your details and requirements.
  • Bringing Your Own Food & Drink (for Medical or Access Needs)

While we have a wide range of food and drink vendors on site, we understand that some attendees may need to bring their own items due to allergies, medical needs, or access requirements.

If you require specific foods, drinks, or feeding equipment, you’re absolutely welcome to bring them with you.
  • Financial Barriers & Donations

Pride in Gloucestershire is free to attend, because we believe everyone should be able to celebrate who they are without financial barriers.

To help cover the cost of staging the event, we kindly ask for a donation on entry if you're able to give – but this is entirely optional. If you’re not in a position to contribute, please know that our staff and volunteers will never pressure you.
  • On-the-Day Accessibility Support

Our Information & Accessibility Tent is open all day and staffed by friendly, trained volunteers. If you have any questions, need assistance, or experience a barrier on the day, please come and speak to us.
  • Pride Supporter Wristbands for PAs and Carers

If you need support to attend Pride in Gloucestershire, we’re happy to offer a free Pride Supporter Wristband for your personal assistant or carer.

When purchasing your own wristband, simply enter the Access Code "ACCESS25" on the ticket selection form to unlock the free PA & Carer Ticket option. This helps us ensure everyone who needs support can access the event comfortably.

Already bought your wristband? No problem – just email us at accessibility@prideinglos.org.uk with your booking name and email address, and we’ll allocate your additional wristband.
  • Safety & Security

The safety of everyone attending Pride in Gloucestershire is our top priority.

The event takes place in a fenced park, with all attendees entering through staffed entry points. This helps us manage capacity, carry out bag checks, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Our team works closely with professional security, stewards, medical providers, and local authorities to ensure the site is secure and well-managed throughout the day.

We’re committed to doing everything we can to make Pride a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to be themselves. If at any point you feel unsafe, unwell, or need support, please speak to a member of staff, security, or visit the Information & Accessibility Tent – we’re here to help.

On Arrival

  • Bag Searching & Security

To keep everyone safe, bag searches will take place at the entrance to Pride in Gloucestershire. This is a standard part of our entry process and applies to all attendees.

We understand that for some people, bag checks can be a source of anxiety or discomfort - especially if you’re carrying medical supplies, sensory tools, or personal care items. Our security and stewarding teams are trained to handle searches with discretion, respect, and awareness of access needs.

    If you require:
    - Medication (including sharps or refrigeration),
    - Mobility or sensory aids, or
    - Incontinence or personal care products,

you are absolutely welcome to bring them with you. Please let the team know if you require a more private or discreet search, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If you’d prefer to discuss your needs in advance or want reassurance about bringing specific items, feel free to contact us at accessibility@prideinglos.org.uk before the event.
  • Entry & Fast-Track Queues

We know that queuing isn’t always accessible – and we want to make sure everyone can get into Pride safely and comfortably.

While Pride Supporter Wristbands include fast-track access as a thank you for supporting the event, you do not need a wristband to use the access lane if you are unable to queue due to a disability or access need.

If queuing is difficult for you – whether that’s due to mobility, fatigue, sensory processing, anxiety, or any other reason – just head to the Access Lane at the entrance, and a member of our team will support you.

If you’re unsure or would prefer to discuss your arrival in advance, feel free to email us at accessibility@prideinglos.org.uk.

During the Event

  • Access for d/Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Attendees

We’re proud to support our d/Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community at Pride.

Key performances on the Main Stage will be BSL interpreted throughout the day, so you won’t miss out on the amazing acts and messages of Pride.
  • Access for Visually Impaired Attendees

If you require information in a different format, we’ve got you covered.

Large print programmes and materials will be available to collect from the Information & Accessibility tent. If there's anything else we can provide to support you, just let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to help.
  • Accessible Seating & Rest Areas

We know that sometimes you just need a moment to sit down and recharge. That’s why we’re providing rest areas with seating throughout the park, including accessible seating options near key zones like the Main Stage and Food Court.

These spaces are available for anyone who needs them – whether you’re pacing yourself, managing fatigue, or just taking a breather.
  • Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are very welcome at Pride in Gloucestershire – and so are well-behaved pets!

We’ll have water bowls and waste bins available across the site, and if you need a dog waste bag, just speak to one of our volunteers or visit the Information & Accessibility tent.

If you have any concerns about bringing your dog or need extra support, please get in touch before the event by emailing accessibility@prideinglos.org.uk.
  • Charging Points for Mobility Aids or Equipment

If you rely on a powered wheelchair or medical equipment that needs charging during the day, we may be able to provide access to a power source. This must be arranged in advance, so please email us at accessibility@prideinglos.org.uk and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
  • Emergency & Evacuation Procedures

In the event of an emergency, our evacuation procedures are designed to ensure everyone’s safety. Our stewards and security team are trained to support disabled attendees, including those with mobility or sensory needs.
  • Food & Dietary Requirements

We want everyone to be able to enjoy something tasty at Pride! Our food vendors will offer a range of options including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly meals.

Each food stall will have clear signage and vendors are happy to talk through ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Hidden Disabilities & Communication Support

We understand that not all disabilities are visible, and we want everyone to feel supported at Pride in Gloucestershire.

Our staff, stewards, and security teams are trained to recognise Sunflower Lanyards and other indicators of hidden disabilities. If you're wearing a Sunflower Lanyard or would simply prefer a bit of extra time, space, or support, please don’t hesitate to let a member of the team know.

We’re committed to offering respectful, patient, and flexible communication throughout the day, and we’ll always do our best to meet your needs.
  • Medical & Welfare Support

Your wellbeing is our priority. Our medical partner, 365 Medical Services, will provide a dedicated first aid station near the Information and Accessibility tent, along with roaming first-aiders throughout the park.

If you need help at any point during the event, just speak to any member of staff or security – they’ll be able to arrange support quickly and discreetly.

If you need to store medication in a fridge during the day, we may be able to help. Please contact us in advance so we can make arrangements with the welfare team.
  • Sensory Zone

We know Pride can be a lot – so we’ve created a quiet space where you can take a break from the crowds and sensory stimulation.

Located in the calmest part of the park, our Sensory Zone includes low lighting, comfortable seating, beanbags, and a selection of sensory tools like fidget toys, sunglasses, and ear defenders.

You’re welcome to bring soft drinks and snacks into this area. To keep it comfortable for everyone, it’s a no smoking and no alcohol zone.
  • Strobe Lighting

We understand that strobe lighting can cause discomfort or pose health risks for some attendees.

That’s why we want to reassure you that no strobe lighting will be used at Pride in Gloucestershire. This applies to all areas of the festival, including the Main Stage and zones.
  • Toilets, Incontinence Waste Disposal, and Wash Facilities

We know how important accessible toilet facilities are, and we’ve worked to ensure suitable options are available across the festival site.

You’ll find two main toilet blocks located at the north and south ends of the park. Each block contains eight standard portable toilets and one accessible unit with extra space and a wider access door.

We’re also pleased to provide a fully staffed ReviLOO on-site – a mobile Changing Places unit with a toilet, adult changing bench, and hoist, offering a more inclusive restroom experience for those who need it. If you need to dispose of incontinence pads, nappies, or related products, you're welcome to use the ReviLOO, which is equipped with a suitable disposal bin and remains open throughout the entire event.

Please note that there are no shower facilities available on site.
  • Wheelchair Access

We want everyone to enjoy Pride, whatever their mobility needs.

The event is held primarily on grass, but there is a hard-standing path around the edge of the park that can be used to navigate between areas.

For wheelchair users, there will be a reserved viewing area near the Main Stage and Cabaret Stage, with good visibility and space for you and a companion.

While we’ve positioned key zones as close to the perimeter path as possible, some travel across grass may still be necessary.

Our Commitment

  • Access Feedback & Continuous Improvement

We’re always looking for ways to improve accessibility at Pride in Gloucestershire. If you have feedback, ideas, or things we could do better, please let us know.

You can email accessibility@prideinglos.org.uk at any time, or speak to our team at the Information & Accessibility Tent during the event. Your input genuinely helps shape a more inclusive Pride for everyone.
